Long Hill Auto Service Battery Replacement at Long Hill Auto Service in MillingtonPosted October 17, 2017 6:31 AMHello, welcome to Long Hill Auto Service. Today's focus is batteries. It seems like everything in Millington runs on batteries. Of course, the batteries we're most concerned with here at Long Hill Auto Service are those in our customer's vehicles. Just like the batteries in our smoke detectors or TV remote, they wear out and need to be replaced . This can be thought of as the power output used to start a cold vehicle engine. The number of cold cranking amps you need depends on your vehicle and where you live in NJ, specifically how cold it is. (Many Millington drivers have first-hand experience trying to start their car on a cold winter morning.) The two factors are that the colder your vehicle's engine is, the more power it takes to turn the engine over to get it started. It has all that cold, sluggish oil to contend with. So if you live where it's cold in NJ, you need a battery with more cold cranking amps than you do where it's moderate or hot. The battery that originally came with your vehicle was based on averages. At Long Hill Auto Service, we like to remind Millington drivers that they should always get at least as many cold cranking amps as their vehicle manufacturer recommends but may want to upgrade if they live where it gets real cold.
Long Hill Auto Service Service for Your Exhaust SystemPosted October 10, 2017 5:12 AMYour vehicle's exhaust system is more than just a tailpipe and a muffler. In fact, it is one of the most complex systems on your vehicle. The manifold is attached to the vehicle engine. It collects exhaust from the cylinders and directs it into the exhaust pipe. Gaskets seal the connection of the manifold to the engine and to other joints. A cracked or loose manifold or a leaking or damaged gasket can allow dangerous gases to enter the passenger compartment of a vehicle. One of these gases is carbon monoxide, which is colorless, odorless and deadly. For this reason, it is important Millington residents keep their exhaust system in good repair.

This was my first experience with Long Hill Auto Body and I can confidently say it's a gem!! Without ever meeting me, Bob (owner) went out of his way to help fix a problem with my daughter's car and was so generous with his time and the advice he offered (problem solved). You can see this business runs like a well-oiled machine and Bob is the heart behind it, a genuine and caring owner who puts customers first. For my family, there's no question...we've found our trusted auto shop. Thanks again Bob and everyone at Long Hill Auto Body! Jeff S., 04/06/2024 |
I called to have a photo inspection for my car and I called and the person answering phone was polite and told me when to come over. When I got there I was greeted and helped right away. They did my inspection quickly and I was on my way. Very pleasant gentlemen working there! Donna Catanzaro, 04/06/2024 |
A few weeks back my wife was driving from PA to NYC by herself and started to have some car trouble. She called me from route 78 and I advised her to get off at the next exit and head to the closest repair shop. Thankfully it was Longhill Auto. At the end of their business day they got right on checking the car out, and were gracious with my wife who was having a very stressful experience. They were in touch with me every step of the way. Ultimately performed the necessary repairs and thoroughly test drove the car to give us peace of mind it was in good shape before making the hour plus drive out to pick it up. Would definitely recommend them and even going out of your way to work with them as it isn’t always easy to find a good shop with great people. Darel Cragnolin, 03/13/2024 |
